Outsmart scams and frauds online
Mr. René Ronse is Belgian, born in Brussels in 1972.
He completed his studies in Belgium and developed a passion for the Internet very early on, from its beginnings in 1994. He became a professional webmaster in 1999.
He currently lives in Templeuve, in Hainaut, Belgium. You can contact him here.
For many years, he studied the mechanisms used by fraudsters, deceptive commercial practices, false promises, warning signs visible to internet users and the methods that make it possible to assess more cautiously the reliability of a website, a message, an offer or an online service.
His work is now centered around several complementary areas:
With this experience, he founded the site Scam Or Reliable in 2012. His goal: to offer an independent, accessible and free space where every internet user can find useful information to better understand scams, spot traps and make safer decisions online.
To make this approach accessible to as many people as possible, different versions of the site now exist:
The purpose of Scam Or Reliable is to support and protect internet users against fraud, deceptive practices, false promises and the risks linked to digital consumer activity.
To achieve this, the site is committed to:
Each publication is based on an independent, cautious and well-documented approach, with one central objective: to provide clear, useful and accessible information to help internet users better understand the risks they face.
Thanks to this approach, Scam Or Reliable has gradually established itself as an information space dedicated to online vigilance, consumer protection and the fight against digital scams.
From 2016 onward, the site reached a wider audience and continues to evolve in order to offer more comprehensive content, anti-fraud alerts, prevention articles, risk analyses and practical tools designed to help internet users in their efforts.
René has also surrounded himself with consultants and contributors able to provide an additional perspective on certain subjects, while developing a research and verification protocol designed to strengthen the reliability of the published information.
“Fair to all”, these three words remain the guiding principle of Scam Or Reliable.
That is why testimonials, questions and feedback are handled seriously. Comments are moderated to preserve their usefulness, but negative experiences are not removed simply because they are inconvenient for a brand, seller or service concerned.
